How to enable family sharing on your Steam account

To enable Family Sharing on your Steam account, open the Steam client and:

1. Select “Steam” in the top left corner;
2. Go to “Settings”;
3. Open the “Family” tab and click “Authorize Library Sharing on this device”;
4. Ensure that the Steam Guard is enabled on your account;
5. Check the “Eligible accounts” and pick the preferred one.
6. (optional) If you do not see any eligible accounts, close the settings and open them again.

To request access from the owner:

1. Ensure that the Steam Guard is enabled on your account;
2. In the game library, you will see games owned by another account.
3. Select the game from the list and click “borrow” to request access.
4. The owner of the game will receive an email with an authorization link. Its activation will grant you access to the game.
