During activation, I encountered the error "0x80072F8F – 0x20000"; what should I do?

The error is generated when trying to update Windows 7, 8, XP, or Vista, operating systems for which Microsoft no longer allows direct switching to Windows 10 or Windows 11.

In this case, it is necessary to proceed with installing the new operating system from scratch, booting from a USB stick, and following the instructions in the delivery email (we recommend that you entirely back up and uninstall your data before proceeding).

To create the USB stick necessary for the installation, you must use the Media Creation Tool on another PC with at least Windows 10 installed.
