How to install and activate Windows Server RDS licenses

Thank you for purchasing from Keycense.
Below you can find the guide that will help you during the installation.

Install the Remote Desktop service

(you can skip this step if you already have the service enabled)

1. Click on Start
2. Click on “Server Manager”
3. At the top right, click on “Management”
4. Click on “Add roles and features”
5. In the new window that opens, click on “Next”
6. Make sure that the “Role-based or feature-based installation” option is selected and click on “Next.”
7. On the next screen, click on “Next” again.
8. In the Roles menu, select “Remote Desktop Service” and then click on “Next.”
9. Click on “Next” again.
10. Click on “Next” again.
11. In the Role Services menu, select “Remote Desktop Licensing” and confirm by clicking “Add Features.”
12. Then select “Remote Desktop Session Host” and confirm by clicking “Add Features.”
13. Click “Next.”
14. Finally, click “Install” to proceed with the installation.
15. Once the installation is complete, restart the system.

Enable the Server and activate the RDS Cal license

1. Click on Start
2. Click on “Server Manager”
3. At the top right, click on “Tools”
4. Go to “Remote Desktop Services” and click on “Remote Desktop Licensing Management”
5. In the window that opens in the left menu, click on “+” on the All Servers item
6. Right-click on the server you see, for example: “WIN-FK1AB29xxxx” and click on “Activate server.”
7. Click on “Next.”
8. Click on “Next” again.
9. Enter your personal data for license registration and click on “Next.”
10. Here you can enter additional data (optional). Click on “Next.”
11. The server has been activated. Now click on “Next” to activate the Cal license
12. Click on “Next” again
13. Click on “Next” again
14. Enter the product key and click on “Add”, then on ‘Next’
15. Click on “Finish” to complete the activation
