How to Download/Install FINAL FANTASY XIV

1. Choose your platform and download the game client
Click the link that matches your system to begin your adventure:

2. Launch the installer and set your preferences
Double-click the downloaded file to begin installation. You’ll be prompted to select your region and preferred language — this will also set the in-game language, which you can adjust later via the launcher settings.

3. Follow the on-screen steps to install the launcher
The installer will guide you through setting up the FINAL FANTASY XIV launcher on your hard drive. It’s quick and painless — no chocobos required.

4. Open the launcher and let it check for updates
Once installed, launch the program. It will automatically scan for updates and ensure your version of FINAL FANTASY XIV is up to date. Then, it’s time to register your game.

5. Accept the terms and log in with your Square Enix account
You’ll be asked to read and accept the FINAL FANTASY XIV Software License Agreement, the Square Enix Account Agreement, and the User Agreement.

• If you don’t yet have a Square Enix account, the launcher will walk you through creating one.
  
• Already registered? Just log in with your existing credentials.
  Important: Square Enix and Square Enix Members accounts are not the same — make sure you’re using the correct one!
  

6. Enter your registration code
When prompted, input the product registration code provided with your purchase to activate the game on your account.

7. Log in and get ready to play
Use your Square Enix username and password to log in via the launcher.

8. Let the game update itself
After logging in, the launcher will check for any remaining updates. This process is automatic and may take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours, depending on your internet speed. Keep an eye on the progress bar — it will estimate the time remaining.

9. Click “Play” and enter Eorzea
Once the update is complete, the “Play” button will appear. Click it, and your journey begins.
