Gameplay Style

Setting

Dawn of War II: Retribution is set ten years after the events of Chaos Rising. The Aurelia subsector is in the grip of conflict between various factions, including Orks, Eldar, Blood Ravens, Chaos Space Marines, Imperial Guard, and others.

Multiplayer

The Imperial Lord General will be added to the current selection of heroes in The Last Stand, along with new environments and new waves of enemies. It can also upgrade all previous Dawn of War II and Chaos Rising heroes by importing the Games for Windows account into the Steam account.

Plot

The player character arrives on Typhon Primaris and confronts an opposing faction, seeking to eliminate Azariah Kyras. Subsequently, they clash with various factions and confront Kyras himself, seeking to prevent him from ascending to daemonhood.

Epilogue

After Kyras's death, the epilogue varies depending on the player's faction. For example, the Space Marines purge their chapter from the influences of Chaos, while the Eldar recover an ancient artefact.
