WARDOGS is a military first-person shooter developed by BULKHEAD and published by Team17. The main mode divides up to 100 participants between three factions, Valkyra, Lonestar and Manticore, competing to capture a control zone. The maps feature 2×2 km control zones whose positions vary between matches. An urban area may favor infantry and fortifications, while a more distant objective may require vehicles and logistical connections. The battlefield allows you to use ground and air vehicles to support operations. You can transport teammates toward the objective, supply important positions or participate in combat using armored vehicles. A helicopter can become a valuable logistical tool, while a heavy vehicle can help change the course of an assault. Your choice depends on the available budget and the situation in the match. Even players who prefer to avoid direct combat can play a decisive role by organizing transport and supporting allies. The system therefore values contributions from players with different interests and playstyles.

Build fortifications and reshape the environment

Construction mechanics allow you to prepare defenses and forward operating bases, transforming strategic positions into support points for your team. At the same time, environmental destruction allows you to damage buildings and structures using heavy weapons and vehicles. Cover that initially appears safe can become vulnerable, while a well-fortified position may provide an advantage during capture operations. The combination of construction and destruction makes the terrain dynamic and encourages you to continually adjust your plans. Preparing a defensive position, protecting an access route or opening a new offensive path are decisions that can influence the entire battle.

Hot Zones and communication reward teamwork

A Hot Zone can appear within the control zone, offering greater economic rewards and creating an additional strategic objective. Its presence can concentrate combat and make it important to coordinate allied movements. Proximity voice chat allows you to organize actions with nearby players, share information and react to events. The drop-in/drop-out multiplayer system also allows you to participate without necessarily remaining for the entire duration of the battle. This structure makes the experience suitable for both short sessions and longer operations, while always keeping individual contributions to the team at the center.
