The Setting
The year is 533 AD. In the last century, the Western Roman Empire has fallen. However, the Eastern Roman Empire continues to endure, dreaming of restoring its lost glory. Emperor Justinian knows that to reconquer the West, he must embark on a daring and risky mission. This mission is led by Belisarius, the hero of the Battle of Dara and suppressor of the Nika Revolt, the last hope of a declining empire.
A Unique Campaign with New Gameplay Dynamics
The "The Last Roman" campaign pack is an epic expansion for Total War™: ATTILA, offering an engaging, mission-based narrative on a new and detailed campaign map set in the Mediterranean. As Belisarius, you must reconquer the lost territories of the Roman Empire, facing hostile and savage forces. Your mission is enriched with new events and missions, while the Emperor, Empress, and your wife Antonina compete for your attention, assigning you difficult and often contradictory tasks. You can choose to remain loyal to Justinian or declare independence, seeking to revive the Western Roman Empire under your command.
New Campaign Map
The "The Last Roman" campaign map accurately depicts Western Europe in 533 AD, with 35 provinces and 100 regions, including the Italian Peninsula, North Africa, Hispania, and France. This provides players with a vast theatre of war and an unprecedented strategic challenge.
Playable Factions
"The Last Roman" introduces five playable factions: the new Roman expedition, the Ostrogoths, the Vandals, the Franks, and the Visigoths, each with unique characteristics and specific starting positions. The Vandal Kingdom faces revolt in Sardinia and the Roman threat, while the Ostrogothic Kingdom is internally divided. The Franks and Visigoths see the return of the Romans as an opportunity to expand and consolidate their power.
