Buy Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon - Excalibur Edition and discover Avalon

Buy Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon - Excalibur Edition Steam Account and immerse yourself in an open-world dark fantasy RPG inspired by Arthurian legends. Explore Avalon, face combat and moral choices, and discover the fate of King Arthur. The edition includes the full game, Sanctuary of Sarras and the Supporters Pack.

A dark Avalon six hundred years after the fall of King Arthur

The kingdom of Avalon is marked by an endless conflict and the legacy of King Arthur Pendragon, who fell six hundred years before the events of the adventure. In this world inspired by Arthurian legends, the protagonist embarks on a journey that brings them into contact with factions, creatures and characters whose motivations are often ambiguous. The main story develops through choices and branching paths, leaving room for decisions that can influence the kingdom's fate. The narrative does not present a simple opposition between good and evil, but invites you to consider the consequences of your actions. The dark fantasy atmosphere accompanies an experience in which exploration, dialogue and combat contribute to reconstructing Avalon's past and defining its future.

Explore three large regions without following a mandatory path

The adventure offers an open world consisting of three expansive areas: the misty Horns of the South, the village of Cuanacht and the snowy mountains of the Forlorn Swords. Each region features environments, characters, dungeons, quests and items to discover. You can choose how to organize your journey, venture away from the main objectives and search for hidden locations without being forced to continuously follow a predetermined route. Knowledge of the terrain becomes increasingly important, as exploration can reveal new opportunities and information useful for progression. The contrast between villages, ruins and hostile landscapes contributes to making the world varied, while freedom of movement allows you to experience the adventure at your own pace.

First-person combat with weapons, magic and stealth

The combat system allows you to alternate between melee weapons, shields, bows, spells and tools that can be used during encounters. You can dodge, parry and block attacks, adapting your strategy to the characteristics of your opponents. Players who prefer to face enemies directly can develop strength-oriented builds, while others can focus on spells, ranged attacks or stealth. The variety of possibilities encourages experimentation with different combinations without imposing a single class or mandatory style. Resource management and positioning remain important, especially against dangerous creatures and large groups. Combat therefore integrates with RPG progression, rewarding both character preparation and mastery of the available techniques.

Create your character through abilities and equipment

Customization allows you to combine attributes, abilities, talents and equipment to develop a personal style. You can invest in character growth and choose tools suited to your preferences, moving from a build focused on close-range combat to one based on magic, alchemy or ranged attacks. The crafting system further expands the possibilities, allowing you to use resources collected during exploration. Choosing which improvements to prioritize becomes important when facing new regions or particularly demanding opponents. There is no single way to build the protagonist: experimenting with different combinations allows you to identify effective solutions and progressively adapt your approach to the challenges you encounter.

Branching quests and activities for experiencing the world of Avalon

The main campaign offers an estimated length of 50-70 hours, with over 200 side quests and more than 250 non-player characters. Dialogue and moral choices allow you to explore the inhabitants' stories and discover different perspectives on the kingdom's conflicts. Beyond quests, you can enjoy fishing, farming, alchemy, cooking, mining, blacksmithing and managing your own home. Activities connected to the journal and collecting information about the world are also available. This variety allows you to alternate between combat and quieter moments, making exploration interesting even when you are not following the main story. Actual playtime depends on how much time you dedicate to optional activities and how you choose to approach the adventure.

The Wyrdness turns the night into a threat

When night falls, Avalon is invaded by the Wyrdness, a primordial force capable of altering reality and making the world more dangerous. Enemies become more aggressive and survival requires greater attention, especially when you are far from a safe location. This mechanic changes the rhythm of exploration and encourages you to evaluate when to continue, rest or prepare for another encounter. Nighttime conditions also contribute to the dark fantasy atmosphere, transforming familiar environments into unpredictable places. Knowledge of your abilities and equipment becomes essential for facing threats, while the contrast between day and night adds another strategic element to the journey.

Sanctuary of Sarras: a new story beneath the waves

The first full expansion takes you to a region connected to the mysterious fate of Sarras and its rebellious crew. A new story follows the trail of Nimue and the deserters who defied King Arthur, seeking to reconstruct the circumstances of their disappearance and Merlin's terrible punishment. The journey introduces an environment shaped by the depths of the sea, featuring ancient structures, forgotten paths and new characters to meet. Quests allow you to explore Avalon's past through decisions and stories connected to the main narrative. The expansion offers approximately 10-15 hours of additional content and can be accessed after reaching the required part of the campaign, rather than being available from the beginning of a new game.

New dungeons, equipment and three skill trees

The Sanctuary expands gameplay with over 20 dungeons and interiors, new bosses and more than 100 pieces of equipment, including weapons, armor, rings, amulets, relics and spells. Progression introduces sacred shrines that allow you to weaken enemies and obtain points to invest in three new skill trees. You can choose which tree to keep active, modifying your build to adapt it to the needs of the moment. Enemies in the new region scale to your character's level, keeping encounters challenging even for players who already possess advanced equipment. These mechanics offer further opportunities for experimentation and allow you to explore the RPG system beyond the original campaign.

Supporters Pack: soundtrack, artbook and golden armor

The Supporters Pack adds digital content for players who want to explore the game's universe more deeply. The official soundtrack includes 16 tracks, while the exclusive 104-page artbook collects illustrations and visual materials connected to Avalon. The pack also includes the Golden Horse Armor, a golden armor set for your horse. These are additional contents that accompany the main experience without replacing progression or changing the campaign's structure. The artbook and soundtrack are digital materials, not physical items. The Excalibur Edition brings these extras together with the base game and expansion, distinguishing it from the Adventure Pack, which includes only the game and Sanctuary of Sarras.
