His mission leads him to a remote European village where the inhabitants exhibit disturbing behaviour, marking the start of an adventure filled with danger, terror, and hope.
A Revolutionised Gaming Experience
Resident Evil 4 Remake Gold Edition features a modernised gaming experience with a reinvented storyline and detailed graphics that captivate players. This new edition marks the revival of a survival horror classic, bringing with it new challenges and horrors to face.
The Return of a Hero
In 2004, six years after the destruction of Raccoon City, Leon Scott Kennedy has become an agent serving the American president, following intensive training with Major Jack Krauser. His new mission is to save Ashley Graham, the president’s daughter, who has been kidnapped and hidden in a rural village on the border between Spain and Portugal. With the help of Ingrid Hunnigan, Leon embarks on his mission, but is immediately attacked by the village inhabitants, transformed into zombie-like creatures by a parasite called Las Plagas.
An Infested Village
Exploring the village, Leon discovers that the inhabitants have been infected by a parasite known as Las Plagas, rediscovered and used by the Los Illuminados cult to control the villagers. During his adventure, Leon meets Luis Serra, a former Umbrella Corporation agent. The two are captured by the village chief, Bitores Méndez, who injects Leon with the parasite. Despite the difficulties, Leon manages to escape and is separated from Luis, who meets Ada Wong, on a secret mission in the same area.
A Race Against Time
Leon reunites with Ashley, only to find that she has also been infected with Las Plagas. Pursued by Méndez, Leon confronts and kills him. With bad weather preventing the rescue helicopter from landing, Leon and Ashley are forced to traverse Lord Ramon Salazar’s castle, which houses the Illuminados’ base. Salazar kidnaps Ashley again, forcing Leon to pursue him. With the help of Luis, who provides a temporary antidote, Leon tries to reach Luis’s lab to remove the parasite for good.
Conflicts and Betrayals
During their escape, Luis is stabbed by Krauser, now allied with the Illuminados. Before dying, Luis gives Leon the key to the lab and asks him to destroy the Illuminados and Las Plagas. Leon confronts and kills Salazar, only to discover that Krauser has taken Ashley to an island turned into a parasite research lab.
The Final Showdown
On the island, Leon is stopped by Lord Osmund Saddler, leader of the Illuminados, who manages to control Leon and Ashley’s bodies through the parasite. After defeating Krauser, Leon reunites with Ashley and confronts Saddler with Ada Wong’s help. They reach Luis’s lab and remove the parasites from their bodies. During their escape from the island, Leon and Ada fight Saddler, who transforms into a mutant monster. Once defeated, Ada takes a vial of Plagas and escapes by helicopter, while Leon and Ashley flee the island on a jet ski.
Epilogue and New Threats
In a post-credits scene, Ada contacts Albert Wesker, who sent her on the mission, asking what the vial is for. Wesker promises that it will herald a new dawn for humanity, at the cost of billions of lives. Disgusted, Ada decides to defect and redirects the helicopter elsewhere.
