Two massive colony ships, the Caravel and the Flores, are constructed to transport 500,000 colonists each. Despite an explosion destroying the Caravel, the Flores reaches Enoch in 2159, after an 83-year journey. The Outriders, a team of elite soldiers, are the first to land and explore the landing zone. However, they soon encounter a deadly energy storm known as the Anomaly.

The Awakening of the Outrider

An Outrider who survives the Anomaly is severely injured and placed in cryostasis. They awaken 31 years later, in 2190, to discover that the colonisation attempt has failed. The Anomaly has destroyed all advanced colony technology, trapping the colonists in a mountain valley, divided in a civil war between the ECA and the Insurgents.

Survivors of the Anomaly, including the Outrider, have become "Altered," humans with supernatural powers. The Outrider reunites with Shira Gutmann, now the leader of the ECA, who tasks them with fighting the Insurgents and their Altered. Shira and Dr. Abraham Zahedi seek to trace a mysterious signal that could offer a way out.
