Eventually, she reaches the north and discovers the source of the demonic power: the Ark of Yamato, a ship capable of traversing the stars. Here, Waka reveals he belongs to the moon tribe, which built the ark to escape heaven under attack from Orochi. Amaterasu defeats Yami, the final demon, freeing Japan from demons forever. With her mission complete, Amaterasu departs with Waka for the Celestial Plains.
