Buy Mortal Shell II Steam Altergift and possess eight legendary warriors
Buy Mortal Shell II Steam Altergift Global and experience a soulslike action RPG set in a world devastated by false gods and monstrous creatures. Possess the Shells of eight warriors, develop different abilities, and fight without traditional stamina limitations. Explore an interconnected open world, discover new weapons, and face intense battles in a standalone dark fantasy adventure.
A new journey into the world of Mortal Shell
Developed by Cold Symmetry and published by Playstack, Mortal Shell II has been available on Steam since August 20, 2026. The sequel expands the ideas of the first installment with a more elaborate world, new progression options, and a combat system that places greater emphasis on aggression.
You play as the Harbinger, a being capable of possessing the remains of fallen warriors. Your mission is to recover the blessed Ova of the Undermether, taking them from the zealots and creatures guarding them to help redeem a devastated world.
The story unfolds through encounters, environments, and secrets to uncover during exploration. You do not need to have completed the first Mortal Shell to understand the adventure, as the sequel is designed as a standalone experience.
Eight Shells for eight different combat styles
The Shell system remains at the heart of the series’ identity. The world contains the remains of eight warriors, each with distinct characteristics, innate abilities, and a personal story to discover.
Tiel, the Acolyte, favors mobility and stealth, while Eredrim, the Venerable, offers a more resilient and offensive approach. Proxima, the Broodseeker, introduces further possibilities through her distinctive abilities. Other Shells allow you to experiment with different builds as you progress.
Each warrior has their own statistics and abilities, which can be developed through the RPG systems. Your choice of Shell therefore influences how you approach enemies and bosses, encouraging you to find a combination suited to your preferences.
Stamina-free combat built around precision and aggression
One of the main additions is the absence of a traditional stamina bar. You can attack and dodge without constantly interrupting the action to recover endurance, creating a more dynamic pace than in the first installment.
This does not eliminate the need for planning. Attacks still have animations and execution times that must be respected, so striking at the wrong moment can leave your character vulnerable.
The system allows you to break enemy posture and exploit openings to inflict critical damage. Reading enemy movements, choosing the correct distance, and balancing aggression with defense remain essential for overcoming demanding encounters.
Melee weapons, ranged tools, and upgrades
The arsenal includes melee weapons with different characteristics, from fast blades to heavier equipment. Each category offers a different balance of speed, reach, and power, allowing you to adapt your approach to each situation.
Ranged weapons add further tactical possibilities. Certain tools consume Resolve, a resource that can be recovered through melee attacks, creating a connection between close-range combat and secondary weapons.
Upgrades allow you to develop your equipment and improve the effectiveness of your builds. Choosing which weapons to strengthen becomes important for managing available resources and creating a combat style that complements your Shell.
Seals and Tarstones to customize your strategies
Seals introduce additional defensive and offensive options. Some allow you to use parries and counterattacks, while others change the balance between risk and reward, offering different advantages depending on your timing.
Harden, the signature mechanic of the first installment, returns through a specific Seal. Choosing between different tools therefore makes defense a customizable part of your build.
Tarstones add another layer of progression, providing passive upgrades and special abilities. Combining Shells, weapons, Seals, and Tarstones allows you to create different builds and experiment with new strategies against dangerous enemies.
A compact, interconnected open world filled with secrets
The world of Mortal Shell II is designed to offer freedom of exploration without relying on excessively vast environments. Regions are connected through alternative routes, hidden passages, and areas that reward curiosity.
By moving away from the main path, you can discover new Shells, weapons, materials, upgrades, and unusual items. Exploration is therefore an important part of character development, rather than simply a way to reach the next objective.
Castles, swamps, villages, and unsettling structures contribute to the dark fantasy atmosphere. The layout encourages you to observe the environment carefully and discover connections that may make later journeys easier.
Dungeons, bosses, and enemies that demand adaptation
The adventure includes dungeons, minibosses, and battles against particularly powerful opponents. Creatures have different attacks and behaviors, forcing you to adjust your approach during combat.
Some enemies rely on brute strength, while others use speed, ranged attacks, or unpredictable movements. This variety makes it important to understand your Shell’s abilities and use the available weapons effectively.
Rest points allow you to recover health, but may also cause enemies to respawn. Death also carries the risk of temporarily losing progression resources, which must then be recovered. These mechanics maintain tension throughout exploration.
Progression and updates to refine the experience
Character growth is based on improving Shells, weapons, and support tools. Resources recovered through exploration and combat allow you to invest in abilities that suit your preferred playstyle.
Post-launch updates have introduced further improvements to balancing, exploration, and resource management. One addition is an experimental adaptive difficulty option, disabled by default, which adjusts enemy strength according to player performance.
Progression therefore encourages experimentation while preserving the possibility of approaching the adventure with a personal build.
