About the Product
Buy Hazard Pay Steam Key and clean up more than 70 laboratories filled with puzzles and hazards
Buy Hazard Pay Steam Key and erase every piece of evidence without leaving a trace
Buy Hazard Pay Steam Key Global and tackle a dystopian pixel-art puzzle game based on grid movement and Sokoban mechanics. Enter contaminated laboratories, move objects, recover documents, and destroy compromising evidence while avoiding acid and other hazards. Complete more than 70 handcrafted levels and compete on global leaderboards.
A simple job: clean everything up and ask no questions
Developed by Smitner Studio and published by Smitner Studio and Numskull Games, Hazard Pay has been available on Steam since September 10, 2026.
A mysterious employer known as IPT sends you into abandoned and contaminated secret facilities. The task seems straightforward: reach the designated location, clean up the scene, eliminate documents and evidence, and make sure nothing can be traced back to what happened.
Instructions arrive through a radio. No face-to-face meetings, no complete explanations, and above all, no questions.
Behind every apparently simple assignment, however, something larger is hiding. By exploring the laboratories, you can observe environmental details and collect clues suggesting what is really happening.
More than 70 handcrafted puzzles
The campaign includes more than 70 compact levels individually designed by hand.
Each area works as an independent puzzle in which you must understand object placement, identify the correct sequence of actions, and complete every task without getting stuck.
The design takes inspiration from classic Sokoban gameplay while introducing environmental elements that constantly alter the rules.
It is not enough to simply push a block into the correct position. You may need to move compromising evidence, clear a path, retrieve documents, or use hazardous substances to eliminate something that should never be found.
One wrong move can make the level impossible to complete or directly put the protagonist in danger.
Push and pull objects carefully
Movement is grid-based and allows you to interact with different elements in the environment.
You can push or drag objects to create routes, reach objectives, or position evidence where it needs to go.
The position of every element matters because available space is often limited. Moving something too early can block a corridor or make another section of the laboratory unreachable.
The game therefore rewards planning and observation. Before acting, it is useful to study the entire room, understand which elements can be moved, and anticipate the consequences of every step.
Erase evidence using unconventional methods
IPT does not simply want you to clean the floor. Anything that could reveal what happened must disappear.
During assignments, you can recover scattered documents and use the environment to eliminate evidence that is more difficult to hide.
Barrels containing chemical substances become especially useful when something needs to vanish permanently.
These interactions give the puzzles a macabre but humorous tone. Blood, accidents, and bodies are treated as elements of a bureaucratic job, reinforcing the dark humor that accompanies the story.
Acid, traps, and environmental hazards
The facilities you explore are far from safe.
Contaminated laboratories, hazardous materials, and mechanisms present in the levels can eliminate evidence, but they can also kill the protagonist.
Acid is only one of the dangers. Every room requires attention because something useful for solving a puzzle can quickly become a threat.
The difficulty comes from completing every objective while always maintaining a viable escape route.
Planning correctly therefore means not only finding the solution, but also making sure the character can complete it without becoming trapped.
A dystopian story told through the environment
Hazard Pay does not constantly interrupt its puzzles with lengthy narrative sequences.
The story emerges through what you find inside the laboratories, scattered documents, environmental conditions, and communications received from IPT.
At first, you may simply follow orders and collect your pay, but it gradually becomes clear that your employer is hiding important information.
The game therefore presents the protagonist with a question: continue obeying, or try to discover what lies behind the operations?
This mysterious component connects the different assignments and provides an additional reason to examine each environment carefully.
Global leaderboards based on move count
Completing a level does not necessarily mean you have found the most efficient solution.
Every movement is recorded, and your final number of steps determines your result.
You can therefore return to previously completed levels and search for better routes, reducing the number of moves required.
Leaderboards allow you to compare your results with friends and players from around the world.
For players who enjoy optimizing solutions, this system adds a competitive element to an otherwise fully single-player experience and increases puzzle replayability.
Pixel art and a dystopian sci-fi atmosphere
The presentation uses detailed top-down pixel art.
Industrial laboratories, chemicals, blood, and technology create an atmosphere inspired by dystopian science fiction, investigative thrillers, and retro aesthetics.
The apparently simple visual style makes the grid and objects immediately readable, which is important in a puzzle game where the exact position of every element determines the solution.
Dark humor contrasts with the unsettling atmosphere, turning absurd tasks and macabre situations into a natural part of the protagonist’s everyday work.
