An anime action RPG set in the vast continent of Orbis

DragonSword: Awakening is developed and published by Hound13 Inc. and has been available on Steam since July 22, 2026.

The adventure follows Lute, a young man traveling toward Orbis, the first kingdom founded by humanity. During his journey, he meets the mercenary Johnny and the elf Castella, becoming involved in the affairs of a mercenary company and a threat capable of changing the future of the entire continent.

Sixty years earlier, a Dragon had brought Orbis to the brink of destruction before being stopped by six legendary Heroes. Now the creature has returned.

Lute must follow the traces of those saviors, uncover the secrets hidden in their past, and discover his own role in the fate of Orbis.

Explore a fantasy open world built with Unreal Engine 5

The continent is represented through an anime-style open world built with Unreal Engine 5.

You can cross grasslands, explore watchtowers, search hidden cellars, enter caves and dungeons, and reach marine areas containing treasures.

Exploration is not limited to the main campaign. Local residents offer tasks and problems to solve, while ingredients collected during the journey can be used through the Cooking system.

This structure combines combat, discovery, and side activities, providing plenty of reasons to leave the main path and learn more about the characters and factions of Orbis.

Tag-team battles with 19 Heroes

The battle system features 19 Heroes with different abilities.

Active Skills allow you to apply Status Ailments to enemies. By stacking the appropriate effects, you can activate Signal Skills and chain attacks with other party members.

Switching Signals allows characters to quickly enter and leave combat, creating continuous and spectacular combos.

Choosing your Heroes therefore becomes an important part of the strategy. Combining compatible abilities allows you to create different formations and discover particularly effective synergies against the various enemies encountered during the adventure.

Familiars, cooking, and side activities

During the journey, you can meet small companions known as Familiars.

These creatures accompany the Heroes and represent a collectible part of the experience. The Deluxe Edition also adds a specific Familiar that is not included with the standard base game.

Orbis also offers activities away from combat. Ingredients found while exploring can be combined through the Cooking system, while villages and characters offer quests that help expand the story of the continent.

Caves, dungeons, hidden treasures, and optional paths complete an open world where exploration and progression develop alongside the main campaign.
