Buy Dead In Vinland and survive the secrets of a hostile island
Buy Dead In Vinland Steam Key ROW for PC and experience a survival management game with RPG, strategy and narrative elements. Lead an exiled Viking family, build a camp, gather resources and make decisions that can change the fate of the entire community.
A Viking family forced to start again
Eirik and his family are banished from their homeland and reach an unknown island that appears to offer a new beginning. However, the land soon proves dangerous, poor in resources and inhabited by people whose intentions are not always easy to understand.
The starting group includes Eirik, his wife Blodeuwedd, their daughter Kari and Moira, Blodeuwedd’s eccentric sister. Every character has unique skills, weaknesses and personality traits that affect work, relationships and survival.
The story combines dramatic moments, ironic dialogue and unpredictable events. Exploration reveals clues about the island’s past, its previous inhabitants and strange phenomena. Some discoveries can help the group, while others may attract new threats.
The objective is not limited to finding food and water. Players must build a stable community, protect vulnerable characters and decide which strangers should be welcomed. Every choice changes internal relationships and may produce consequences several days later.
Survival becomes a collective story built through sacrifices, mistakes and alliances. No character is completely indispensable, but every loss can deeply affect the balance of the settlement.
Hunger, thirst and depression turn every day into a challenge
Managing the physical and mental condition of each survivor is one of the central gameplay elements. Hunger, thirst, fatigue and depression increase during work, exploration and difficult events. Ignoring these values may reduce a character’s efficiency or place their life at risk.
Resources must be distributed carefully. Using all available supplies to solve an immediate problem may leave the community without provisions during the following days. Water also requires constant production and can become difficult to obtain during unfavourable weather conditions.
Illnesses and injuries make management even more demanding. A weakened character may work more slowly, make mistakes or suffer further damage after a difficult activity. Rest, medicine and dedicated medical facilities are therefore as important as food production.
Morale cannot be ignored. Survivors may lose confidence, argue with each other or develop depression that affects the entire community. Assigning the hardest tasks to the same person may improve short-term productivity but create serious long-term consequences.
Every day requires new priorities. Players may need to suspend exploration to heal an injured survivor, produce water or allow an exhausted character to rest.
Build an efficient camp with dozens of upgrades
The camp is the centre of daily life and can be expanded with 18 activity stations. These facilities allow survivors to produce resources, prepare meals, heal injuries, craft equipment and organise work more effectively.
It is impossible to build everything immediately. Materials, time and workers are limited, so players must decide which structures are most urgent. A water station may become essential during a drought, while a medical area can save the community when illnesses begin to spread.
More than 130 upgrades are available. Each improvement can increase production, reduce resource consumption or lower the risk of accidents. These choices determine the specialisation of the settlement and influence the strategies available.
The camp can evolve from a temporary shelter into an organised community. In addition to hunting, fishing and gathering materials, survivors can grow vegetables and raise sheep. These activities require an initial investment but can provide more stable production.
Assigning the right character to each facility is essential. Individual abilities influence efficiency, production and the chance of success. Poor work distribution can cause shortages, fatigue and conflict.
Construction is therefore connected directly to the story, as every upgrade represents a choice between immediate safety and future development.
Fourteen characters make every community unique
During the campaign, players can manage up to 14 playable characters. Each survivor has a personal story, skills, flaws and beliefs. Some island inhabitants can be recruited, while others may prove hostile or incompatible with the family’s objectives.
Relationships change through dialogue, shared activities and decisions made during events. Characters with good affinity may work more effectively together, while rivalries and personal conflicts can reduce efficiency or create new problems.
The game also includes seven possible romantic relationships. Love can improve morale and strengthen the bond between characters, but it can also produce jealousy and tension when one partner is injured or expelled.
Players can remove a survivor from the camp. This decision reduces resource consumption but is permanent and may negatively affect the other members of the community. A highly skilled person may be difficult to replace even when their behaviour creates problems.
Every new recruit changes the strategic possibilities of the campaign. A fighter may strengthen the group’s defence, while a specialist can improve food or medicine production. However, a larger population also consumes more water and supplies.
The community must therefore grow carefully, considering both the abilities of new arrivals and the additional pressure placed on available resources.
Explore 150 areas and complete non-linear quests
The island contains 150 areas represented through hand-painted environments. Exploration allows players to discover materials, items, characters, quests and information about the mysteries of the territory.
Sending a team away from camp involves significant risks. Explorers consume energy, may suffer injuries and cannot perform normal camp activities while travelling. Health, equipment and remaining supplies must be evaluated before every expedition.
Explored locations may contain animals, ruins, abandoned settlements and narrative encounters. Some decisions create immediate consequences, while others may change events that occur several days later.
The game includes 70 non-linear quests. They do not need to be completed in the same order and may develop differently depending on previous choices. A character rescued during exploration could become an ally, while an aggressive response may permanently remove a possible collaboration.
Exploration is not limited to gathering materials. Every area expands the group’s knowledge of the island and may change its priorities. A new food source can solve a crisis, while meeting a hostile faction may force the community to prepare its defences.
Curiosity and caution must remain balanced because a poorly organised expedition can endanger the entire settlement.
Three-versus-three tactical battles with lasting consequences
Combat takes place in turns and involves teams of up to three characters. Position, class, abilities and action order determine the effectiveness of every fighter.
Five active classes and five passive classes are available. Some survivors are suited to the front line, while others can attack from protected positions, support allies or weaken enemies.
Battles are relatively fast, but their consequences can last for several days. Injuries and illnesses do not disappear automatically after combat. A damaged character may require rest, medicine or special treatment before returning to work.
Team selection must also consider the needs of the camp. Sending the best workers into battle may increase the chance of victory but leave the community without the people required to produce food and water.
A balanced formation can protect vulnerable characters, control opponents and focus attacks on the most dangerous targets. Equipment and abilities unlocked during the campaign provide additional tactical options.
After every battle, players must decide whether to continue exploring or return to the shelter. Moving forward may provide better rewards, but it also increases the risk of permanently losing an important survivor.
Björn Headcleaver demands tribute from your community
The island is controlled by Björn Headcleaver and his group of raiders. The tyrant demands regular tribute and reacts violently when the community fails to meet his requirements.
Delivering food and materials may prevent an immediate attack but reduces the resources available for survival. Refusing allows the group to preserve its supplies but increases animosity and the risk of retaliation.
The relationship with Björn develops throughout the campaign. Players can attempt to gain time, strengthen the camp or prepare a rebellion. No strategy is free from consequences: obeying for too long weakens the community, while confronting the raiders without preparation may cause permanent losses.
The tribute system changes daily planning. Producing only what the survivors need is not enough because part of the resources must be reserved for future demands. Construction decisions must also consider this constant pressure.
Björn creates a moral dilemma. Protecting the family may require painful compromises, while resistance can place weaker characters in danger.
The selected strategy depends on alliances, accumulated resources and the player’s willingness to accept increasingly serious risks.
