DayZ Cool Edition Europe | Xbox One / Xbox Series XS

Survive across Chernarus, Livonia, and Sakhal with the base game, Frostline expansion, and digital content included in the Cool Edition

Face a hardcore survival experience where every decision can be your last

DayZ Cool Edition is a complete package dedicated to the multiplayer survival game developed and published by Bohemia Interactive.

The game throws you into a post-apocalyptic world devastated by an outbreak, where the infected are only part of the danger.

The real threat can also come from other survivors.

Every encounter with another player can turn into cooperation, trade, an ambush, or a deadly fight.

There are no traditional checkpoints that let you easily undo mistakes: losing your life generally also means losing the equipment you have collected.

DayZ therefore builds its experience around tension, resource management, and adaptability, leaving players free to decide how they want to survive.

Explore Chernarus and Livonia in the complete base game

The Cool Edition includes the complete DayZ base game, featuring both Chernarus and Livonia.

Chernarus is the series’ iconic setting, a post-Soviet territory of around 230 km² characterized by abandoned cities, villages, forests, military facilities, coastlines, and rural areas.

Each location offers different loot opportunities and levels of risk.

Livonia adds another territory of around 163 km², featuring large forests, open fields, settlements, and harsher environmental conditions.

Exploration means constantly searching for water, food, medicine, clothing, ammunition, and tools.

Moving away from the coastal and starting areas can provide better equipment, but it also increases the likelihood of encountering well-armed players and particularly dangerous zones.

Survive the freezing environment of Sakhal with the Frostline expansion

The Cool Edition also includes DayZ Frostline, the expansion that introduces the snowy territory of Sakhal.

Sakhal is a volcanic archipelago in the Far East characterized by an extreme winter environment.

Its main landmass covers around 83 km², excluding ice fields, while the overall explorable territory is further expanded by frozen areas and navigable waters.

Here, the climate itself becomes one of your main enemies.

You must keep your body warm, find shelter, obtain food, and learn to manage conditions that are far more demanding than those found in Chernarus and Livonia.

Frostline also introduces new environmental hazards, cold-adapted wildlife, new illnesses, improved fishing mechanics, and winter-themed cosmetic content.

Manage hunger, thirst, temperature, diseases, and injuries

Survival in DayZ goes far beyond simple combat.

You need to monitor numerous character conditions and react quickly when something goes wrong.

Elements you must manage include:

• Hunger
• Thirst
• Body temperature
• Blood loss
• Injuries
• Diseases
• Infections
• Equipment condition
• Ammunition and resources
• Exposure to environmental conditions

Even seemingly simple actions can have consequences.

Drinking contaminated water, eating unsafe food, or remaining in the cold for too long can quickly compromise your chances of survival.

You can use medicine, build fires, cook, hunt, fish, and improvise tools using resources found throughout the world.

Every journey therefore requires preparation, especially when moving far away from familiar areas.

Interact with other survivors without knowing who to trust

DayZ is built around player interaction.

There are no rules forcing other survivors to cooperate.

You might encounter someone willing to share food and medicine, or a player ready to attack as soon as you lower your guard.

Proximity voice chat allows you to communicate directly with nearby players, creating unpredictable situations.

You can form groups, travel with friends, trade, organize ambushes, or try to survive entirely on your own.

Resource scarcity makes every encounter even more delicate: someone who initially seems friendly may become a threat if you have something they need.

This unpredictability helps make every session different from the last.
