The two ask for an alternative solution, and the Devil forces them to collect the contracts of the souls of other island inhabitants by midnight the next day, or else they will lose their souls. To aid them, Elder Kettle gives them a potion that allows them to shoot energy blasts from their fingers.

Cuphead and Mugman travel across Inkwell Isle and collect contracts from the souls of numerous bizarre characters. Once the mission is complete, they return to the casino. The manager, King Dice, challenges the two brothers to a showdown, being defeated. Subsequently, they face the Devil, who offers them a place on his team in exchange for the contracts. The player can decide whether to accept or reject the Devil's offer.

The Final Showdown with the Devil

If the player accepts the offer, Cuphead and Mugman are cursed, and the game ends.

If the player refuses, the two brothers confront the Devil in a bizarre and challenging battle, emerging victorious, forcing the Devil to surrender and burning all the contracts. They return home as heroes, announcing the good news to the island residents who celebrate their act of altruism.
