The curse on her right arm directly connects her to the historic enemy of the Belmont clan. This mark is not only part of the story, but also represents her internal struggle. Rose must learn to control the dark power within her without allowing it to determine her future.

Trevor represents the experience of a warrior who has already faced the lord of vampires. The combat system rewards precision and experimentation. Players can combine whip attacks, acrobatic movement, secondary weapons and supernatural abilities to handle each encounter differently. The result is an accessible action experience with enough depth to support multiple strategies.

Arcana cards, weapons and relics shape your fighting style

Rose can use weapons divided into seven different categories, offering several alternatives to the Vampire Killer. Each category supports a different approach, from fast close-range attacks to more controlled offensive strategies.

Relics provide defensive or offensive effects and can change the way the protagonist performs during combat. Some combinations improve survivability, while others focus on damage, mobility or supernatural powers. Exploring every room is important because useful equipment and upgrades may be hidden outside the main route.

The Arcana system is one of the main gameplay innovations. After defeating specific bosses, Rose can seal their essence inside tarot cards. These cards provide spells and special abilities that can be used throughout the rest of the adventure.

New abilities can unlock previously inaccessible doors, elevated platforms and hidden routes. Backtracking therefore becomes a natural part of progression and can lead to upgrades, equipment and secret rooms.

The Vampire Killer also plays an important role outside combat. It can be used during platforming sections and to interact with specific environmental elements. Carefully observing walls, ceilings and suspended structures may reveal alternative paths.

The environments combine new locations with elements that longtime fans will recognise. Gothic architecture, religious imagery and monstrous creatures remain central to the atmosphere, while the burning streets of Paris give the adventure a distinctive visual identity.

Progression rewards curiosity and memory. A locked door or unreachable platform discovered early in the game may become important after Rose obtains a new ability.

Iconic bosses and corrupted historical figures rule the night

The journey features legendary enemies from the history of the franchise alongside new characters inspired by European history and folklore. Confirmed bosses include Death, Medusa and Carmilla, each designed around distinctive attack patterns and combat mechanics.

Death uses a scythe capable of cutting through space, while Medusa combines a petrifying gaze with the body of a gigantic serpent. Carmilla awaits Rose inside the castle, presenting an elegant but deadly challenge.

Isaac also returns as a Devil Forgemaster connected to the events previously faced by Trevor. New figures include Joan of Arc, reinterpreted within the dark fantasy universe. The sewers are also home to The Fallen, a mysterious creature feared by the inhabitants of Paris.

Boss battles require players to recognise attack sequences, find vulnerable moments and select suitable equipment. Defeating major enemies can provide new Arcana cards, making each encounter an important part of character progression.
